The medal is 18mm in diameter, with a straight clasp suspender without swivel.
Obverse
The obverse shows the uncrowned left-facing profile of King George V by Sir Bertram Mackennal, with the inscription GEORGIVS V BRITT : OMN: REX ET IND:IMP:
Reverse
The reverse of the medal depicts St George naked on horseback, armed with short sword trampling underfoot the eagle shield of the Central Powers, and a skull and cross-bones (the emblems of death). Above (off-centre near right upper rim), the sun has risen in victory. The years “1914” and “1918” appear on the perimeter in the left and right fields respectively
Ribbon
The ribbon is 16mm wide, and consists of an orange watered centre (8mm), with thin stripes of white (1.5mm) and black (0.5 mm) at each side, and borders of royal blue (1.5 mm).
Packing
